I think it was Kewauskum where write-in candidates won because they were against a school referendum. The referendum failed, and the write-ins didn’t know what the heck they were doing with regard to the rest of the town’s business.

“Write in candidates do win.
If anybody needs help with a write in campaign send me an e-mail. If you appear to be a better candidate than already exists, I will help in any way I can.”
Here’s what Shevegas originally said:
Yes (12) — Ziegelbauer, Vandersteen, Procek, Medina, Baumgart, Koch, Dunton, J. Van Dixhorn, Schultz, Schramm, Abler, Riemer
Who were you listening to?
Other than a few anonymous loudmouths online, I never heard one person, outside of the county meetings that supported this tax.

My supervisor voted for this tax, and I hope somebody runs against him. Seldom is there something I really can get behind.
This is one of those things.
This is also why I am against a City Administrator. Adam Payne spent months pushing this dog uphill, how do I vote him out?
SheVegas, Replying to sheboygantalk:
I always look at personal interpretations of the great Kewaskum referendum when looking to better society. Our current reps spent millions of years training in a secret bunker outside of Waldo, and they are solely responsible for our future, yet I’d welcome the outsider that listens to their constituents over some kind of preaching Yoda any day.
Smug politicos are not needed in the modern world. What is needed is greater community participation on all issues.
The following is just more ranting on the same.
One more stomp, It’s not the method of taxing, it’s the amount of taxing that people dislike.
I’m sick of people meeting behind closed doors and than blaming the other guy, let’s open up the books, and get down to business. We are educated, we run cities and society’s online in our spare time.
Remember Sim Tower? Planning is more important than doing. Putting the movie theater in the midst of commerce did wonders for all. Express elevators reduce the need for dozens of lesser elevators, just a game, yet, real world learning.
Kohler adopted it’s first 50 year plan in 1917, they still devote time and effort on planning, seems to be working pretty well. This is truly a case of pro’s VS Joe’s.
